The high-wing 40-size Toledo Special will rekindle memories of the “Golden Age” of aviation with its “vintage” classic looks and delight modelers who are looking for a model that can offer them sport aerobatic performance, yet still look different and unique when out at the flying field.
To optimise weight and performance the model is constructed from laser-cut balsa and plywood covered with Ultracote in a typical “Golden Age” colour scheme giving the airplane a classic look and providing ease of visibility in the air.
Other features of the Toledo Special include the 2-piece wing for easier transportation, pre-hinged control surfaces with pre-installed control horns and a battery hatch for quick and easy access to the flight batteries.
Whilst the model is optimised for electric power and is perfectly matched with an E-flite Power 46 brushless motor (EFLM4046A), it may also be flown successfully with a .40 size and up two or four-stroke glow engine and the comprehensive hardware pack and Hangar9’s photo illustrated assembly guide make fitting either option simple and easy.
The high-wing layout of the model and clear cabin windshield allows for the installation of a pilot figure for added realism and the pre-painted fiberglass wheel pants and motor cowling complete the stylish look.
This aircraft combines old-time high-wing styling with nice relaxed moderate aerobatic performance to produce a model that everyone at the flying-field will envy.
